No Yoga August 15
Enjoy an invigorating Adult Mat Yoga Class with Taryn and Kristin of Iris Mind + Body every Wednesday at 11:30 am. RSVP is appreciated. Please note: There will be no class on August 15; classes resume August 22.
End of Summer Reading Party
Join is for a fun-filled End of Summer Reading Program celebration on Wednesday, August 15, featuring a screening of Coco at 3 pm, followed by our traditional hot dog and burger cookout at 5 pm, which will include prizes and a bouncy house! RSVP 973-226-8636. Please note: This event is only for those who registered for our Summer Reading Program.
Art Exhibit Opening Reception
Paintings by Livingston artist Linda Zamer will be on display in our community room throughout August. Meet the artist and learn more about what inspires her to create during a special opening reception on Thursday, August 16, from 6 to 7:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served. Call to RSVP for the reception; exhibit will be open for viewing during regular library hours.
Hiking Group to Visit South Mountian Reservation
Our next hike, set for Saturday, August 18, will be at South Mountain Reservation. Weather permitting, we will meet at 8 am at the Tulip Springs parking lot in West Orange. Dogs and kids welcome if chaperoned by an adult. RSVP/more info: 973-226-8636 or
Knitting & Crochet Club
Enjoy an evening of knitting and crocheting at the library on Monday, August 20, starting at 7 pm. New members welcome.
Adult Guided Meditation Classes
The next Adult Guided Meditation classes are scheduled for Thursdays, August 23, and September 13 and 27, at 10 am and 7 pm. RSVP is appreciated. The evening meditation on September 13 will be led by Lou Redmond, motivational speaker and author of Find Your Truth. Discussion about book will follow class.
SAT vs ACT Presentation
College-bound students and their families can learn more about the differences between the SAT and ACT during this presentation on Saturday, September 8, at 11 am. Presented at the library by C2 Education and Test Prep of West Caldwell. Call 973-226-8636 to RSVP.
NEW! Clean Eating Program
Learn more about what "clean eating" entails during a new series that focuses on the NY Times best-selling book The Clean 20 by Ian K. Smith, MD. Each weekly session will focus on a particular chapter of The Clean 20 as we discuss the book and prepare to begin our subsequent support/challenge group. First topic of discussion will be "Sugar and Its Hidden Friends" on Monday, September 20, at 7 pm. Call to RSVP.

Library Closed Saturdays in July & August
The library will be closed on Saturdays throughout July and August, as well as on September 1. Saturday hours, 10 am-3 pm, will resume on September 8.
Library Closed Friday, August 24
The library will be closed on Friday, August 24, as we install new tiles. We will be upgrading the circulation area, so we will have a temporary checkout area in the YA section between August 25 and Labor Day. We appreciate your patience and support as we work on these upgrades to better serve you!

Back to School DIY Essential Oil Roller
Geeta Lahiri, a wellness educator who conducts natural lifestyle classes, will demonstrate how to make back-to-school essential oil rollers for students of all ages on Wednesday, August 29, at 4 pm. Learn how to make natural, essential oil-based rollers in fresh, soothing scents for just in time for the new school year! Call to RSVP.
Walking for Fitness
This group fitness activity meets Mondays at 10 am. Jump-start your morning with a 45-minute low-impact workout that emphasizes walking (streamed on video). Also includes discussion and healthy recipe exchanges. Ideal for beginning fitness levels. Bring towel and water bottle. Call to RSVP.
Chair Yoga Mondays
Join us for some chair yoga workouts (streamed on video) every Monday starting at 11 am. Bring towel and water bottle. Call to RSVP.
Matinee Mondays
Our next Matinee Monday on August 20 at 1 pm will feature "Where the Boys Are," the 1960s classic about the escapades of a group of mid-western college girls who head to Florida for spring break in search of adventure and romance. PG, 1 hour and 32 minutes. No RSVP needed, popcorn will be served.
HOOPLA is Back!
HOOPLA is back for our patrons! Go to and enter your library card information to download free music, movies, television programs, audiobooks, and ebooks with no late fees. Please note: each patron is entitled to any FOUR downloads per month at this time. If you need one-on-one help getting started, see our assistants Tami Jaegel and Scott Bergenfeld.
Important Delivery Update
Patrons may now have up to three book requests at once. If you have more, they won't be automatically cancelled, but you won't be able to place any new requests until you have less than three. BCCLS informational video:
Leveled Reading List Books Available
Noecker Kids & Parents: We now have a list of books available at the library for the leveled reading system used at Noecker Elementary School. All you have to do is inquire at the Circulation Desk, and you can see a list of books at your child's current level that we have available.
Scott's Solutions: Classes by Appointment
Library assistant Scott Bergenfeld can show you the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other tech resources Mondays or Fridays 9 am-noon. Safely navigate social media; create resume templates, letters, and spreadsheets; utilize cell phone, iPad, and Kindle features, such as calendars and more. Please note: RSVP needed for this drop-in instruction, call 973-226-8636.
Mobile Hotspots Available
Mobile Hotspots are now available for our patrons to borrow! Available to patrons 18 or older with a valid driver's license and Roseland Free Public Library card in good standing. Each hotspot provides internet access for up to 10 devices. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the loan period is 14 days. There will be a $5 per day late fee.
Museum Passes Available
Patrons can borrow passes for themselves and/or their families for Montclair Art Museum, Morris Museum, The Jewish Museum, the Children's Museum of Manhattan, Grounds for Sculpture, and Imagine That! Please check out the new borrowing guidelines under the "Museum Passes" tab on the home page.
